How to Reset Toyota Maintenance Light

When you’re cruising around Cedar Park, the last thing you want to see is the Toyota maintenance required light. While no drivers are fond of any illuminating lights on their dashboard, the good news is that the Toyota maintenance light is just reminding you that maintenance is due soon. After 5,000 miles since your last oil change, it will light up to let you know you need to schedule service at your local Austin service center. But if you already have an appointment set up, you probably don’t want the light on. Learn how to reset your Toyota maintenance light below!

How to Reset a Toyota Maintenance Light in Five Easy Steps

Before you jump straight to resetting the Toyota maintenance required light, you should inspect your car to determine why the light came on. We recommend checking your maintenance schedule to see if your vehicle may be due for an oil change, 30,000-mile services, or other routine maintenance. Once you’ve figured out what the issue is, you can keep it on until you find the time to visit our service center near Leander or choose to reset it in advance of your visit. Here are the steps below to reset your Toyota maintenance light:

  1. Insert your car key into the ignition, and turn it to “On” but don’t start the car.
  2. Click and hold the trip reset button located near the odometer until you see “Trip A” appear on the center screen.
  3. Continue to hold the trip reset button and turn the key back to the “Off” position.
  4. Turn the key to “On.”
  5. Keep holding the trip reset button until the number on the odometer reaches 0. You’ve successfully reset the Toyota maintenance light.
